This class explores Mizrahi identity. Mizrahi is a sociological term developed through the creation of the State of Israel to group Jewish people from the SWANA region (South West Asia + North Africa). This class will share the history and cultural dimensions of this identity. It will be taught from a political and global racial justice lens to address the colonial framework that continuously erases this identity for its own interests.
