Sivan: Foundations of Jewish Prayer
What is prayer and what does Jewish tradition offer us in understanding prayer? Come join this 3 part course to delve into the wisdom of prayer through a Jewish lens. Together we will look at the structure of prayer in Judaism and discuss its modern relevance for us today. We will also look at certain prayers and ponder their meanings. This class will include text analysis, interpretations and community discussion.

Tammuz - Av: High Holiday Liturgy
Curious about the meanings of the prayers in the High Holiday service? Come join this 3 part course to learn the texts of prayer for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. In this course we will look at the structure of the High Holiday liturgy as well as analyze the meaning of these texts. This course will help you spiritually prepare for the portal of awakening that is High Holidays.

Elul: Selichot: Prayers of Forgiveness
Selichot is a set of liturgical prayers sung during the month of Elul to awaken the heart to return to the Divine. In this course, you will learn about the Sephardic Selichot practice through looking at the text of these potent songs and analyzing their meanings together in community. You will also receive various tunes and melodies for the songs to practice singing at your own pace.

Every new moon, we will gather for a meditative experience of the mystical teachings of each month. Hadar Cohen will guide us through a 10-minute meditation with 20 minutes of silence, followed by a teaching and time for Q&A.
Each month is a doorway to the cultivation of certain qualities and is auspicious toward certain experiences; putting attention on these messages opens the portal to receiving the blessings of the upcoming month.
